EP14 - Up the Elephant and Round the Castle

Liam & Dave review the Jim Davidson vehicle (surprisingly not one that he drunk-drove) 'Up the Elephant and Round the Castle'. Davidson plays 'Jim London' a self-proclaimed layabout who inherits a home in Elephant and Castle (an area in London). The series ran for three series in the 80s and much like Jim Davidson's career: it hasn't aged well.

EP13 - Filthy, Rich and Catflap

Liam & Dave (after stepping over the corpses of numerous Milkmen) check out Ben Elton's 'Filthy, Rich and Catflap'. Running for a single series in 1987, the series showcased the poor tv career of 'Rich' (Rik Mayall) along with his minder 'Catflap' and sleazy theatrical agent 'Filthy'. Often unfairly described as a: 'sitcom in between Young Ones and Bottom', Liam & Dave discuss whether the show was a hit-com on it's own merits.

EP12 Help (2005) Paul Whitehouse and Pedro

Liam & Dave review the short-lived 'Help', a sitcom co-written by (and co-starring) Paul Whitehouse & Chris Langham. Thanks to Langham's 'research' for the show's second series, this became the first sitcom to have a series run as a courtroom exclusive!

EP11 Bob Martin (The Barrymore vehicle, not the pet supplies)

From amongst kitty litter and flea treatment, Liam & Dave dig up the Michael Barrymore vehicle 'Bob Martin'. Broadcast on ITV for two series (2000-2001), the majority of people - of a certain age - will remember Barrymore, but do they remember his foray into sitcoms? 

EP10 The Young Ones

Liam & Dave review the anarchic comedy The Young Ones, a series which split opinion on it's debut: some labelling it as an innovative blast of genius and others called it 'vomit comedy'. All that matters is: Hit or Shit?

EP9 A Small Problem (1987)

Liam & Dave discover a Britain where people under 1.5 metres are treated as scum and forced to live in ghettos. It's a comedy - allegedly!
